The John Paul II Adoration Chapel
The John Paul II Adoration Chapel allows parishioners, scheduled adorers, and visitors to spend time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament any time of the day or night except when the Blessed Sacrament is reposed on Saturday from 3 pm to 6 pm and on Sunday from 7:30 am to 11 am during the weekend Masses. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament provides an opportunity for private adoration, praise, thanksgiving, and petition.
What is Perpetual Adoration?
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is the adoration of Jesus Christ present in the Holy Eucharist. In the many Churches that have this adoration, the Eucharist is displayed in a special holder called a monstrance, and people come to pray and worship Jesus continually throughout the day and the night. Christ’s great love for us was shown when he was crucified on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and give us eternal life. He loves us without limit, and offers Himself to us in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. Can we not give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration in return?
The Benefits of a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration
Everyone that spends time in adoration of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist develops a personal relationship with Jesus, and grows in love and holiness. Quiet time with the Lord in adoration enables people to listen and recognize His voice as He speaks to their hearts. Many of the faithful who attend adoration report various miracles and healings. Parish communities experience increased Mass attendance, service of others, unity, conversions, the return of fallen away Catholics, as well as vocations to the priesthood and religious life. The laity work together to coordinate Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, helping to build a faith-filled community.
Location
At St. Nicholas Catholic Church, we have the great privilege of having a Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel – the John Paul II Adoration Chapel. It is located in the old school building southwest of the main church. The entrance to the chapel is from the street level in the front doors and to the right.
All are invited to the Adoration Chapel. Many people will attest to it being the best hour of their week!
Schedule and Times
Adoration is perpetual – all day and all night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except when Our Lord is reposed on Saturday from 3 pm to 6 pm and on Sunday from 7:30 am to 11 am during the weekend Masses.
At least one person is scheduled each hour the chapel is open to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament not left alone. We are always looking for people who are willing to commit to one hour a week for Adoration. We are also looking for people who can commit to one hour once or twice a month. We are also in need of people who are willing to be substitutes when someone is not able to make their hour. Would you be willing to spend some quality time with Our Lord?
Even if you are not able to help out with a scheduled hour, you are able to stop by the Chapel at any time for a few minutes, 20 minutes, an hour or more, whatever works out for you. JESUS IS WAITING ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!
We are in need of Adorers for several hours on different days. If you would like to sign up for an hour of Adoration or have any questions on Adoration, please contact Dan and Lynne Soderlund at (507) 645-6012.
